Nicol’s family does Christmas every year after Christmas time. All of her brothers and sisters live in different states and getting together for the holidays are easier this way. They live in Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Texas and Illinois. So every year, the family gets together after Christmas and meets up in Wisconsin Dells at the Wilderness Resort for a few days. We exchange gifts, have dinner and then enjoy the rest of the trip with swimming, arcades and other fun activities. I personally love it because not only do we get together for our Christmas gathering where the kids all get to meet up and play, but it also gives everyone a mini vacation at the same time.
The day of our Christmas dinner, we have a banquet room rented out downstairs of the Buffalo Phils restaurant. We have a buffet of delicious food while we enjoy some drinks and chatting. Shortly after that, the kids all get on the floor and take turns opening their gifts. It’s nice seeing everything they receive and a great way for them to kick off their fun-filled weekend.
